The National Citizen Service (NCS) run programmes across the country that work to empower young people to change the world around them by making sure they have the right tools, opportunities, and respect to do so.
Aimed at 16 and 17 year olds, their programmes usually comprise of activities you will never have done before that help you develop skills to boost your CV, build your confidence, better understand your community, learn how to work in a team, and make a positive impact in your local community.
You’ll mix with a new crowd, pick up skills, and take on fresh challenges together that will help you get a taste for independence and smash your future goals.
For more information visit the NCS website and look out for information on our social media on how to sign up.
If you are a local organisation who wants to get involved in the NCS programmes, or can offer an opportunity for the young people in these programmes, please contact the Wakefield Youth Work Team on 01924 302665 and ask for a NCS staff member.
